4-H is more than just cows & horses

There is so much to do in 4-H!

With 160 projects offered in 4-H, a 4-H member has the ability to learn about everything from Geology to how to Archery!  Some of the projects that 4-H offers that may not be a well know are, Aerospace, Computers, Knitting and Child Development.

For a year 4-Her’s are learning about their selected projects and preparing them for the local County Fair.  At the fair, members are judged on their final projects and receive ribbons for their hard work.

In 4-H, youth learn the six pillars of character which are:

Trustworthy: Be honest, reliable & loyal

Respect: Be considerate of others & tolerant of differences

Responsibility: Use self-control, do your best & persevere

Fairness: Share, be open-minded & listen to others

Caring: Be kind & compassionate & show you care

Citizenship: Better your community & respect authority

4-H provides youth with a safe environment for learning outside of school and  the ability to lead and not just follow.

The mission of the Missouri 4-H Youth Program is to create environments in which young people are valued, contributing members of their communities.  We strive to provide a balanced approach to youth development.  The 4-H Program promotes mental, physical, social and spiritual development.  We pledge our heads to greater thinking, our hearts to greater loyalty, our hands to larger service and our health to better living, for our clubs, our communities, our country and our world.
